This Saturday, May 24, all roads lead to St. Peter’s Major Seminary in the Diocese of Zomba, where the Catholic Church in Malawi will witness a historic and joyful celebration — the ordination of 27 new deacons, the highest number in a decade!
This milestone marks a powerful moment in the life of the Church, as these men take their first step in the Sacrament of Holy Orders. God-willing, they will be ordained priests next year, setting a new record in the Church’s journey in Malawi.
Ordination Venue: St. Peter’s Major Seminary, Zomba, Time: 9:30 AM
Presider: His Grace Most Rev. George Desmond Tambala, Archbishop of Lilongwe
The ordinands represent almost every arch/diocese in Malawi, except Karonga: Blantyre: 8, Lilongwe: 7 Chikwawa 3, Mangochi 3, Mzuzu: 3, Dedza: 1, Zomba: 2
These candidates are currently on a retreat at Thondwe Pastoral Centre as part of their spiritual preparation. Let’s keep them in our prayers!
All faithful, families, friends, benefactors, and all people of goodwill are warmly invited to join this prayerful and joyful celebration.
