About CADECOM
The Catholic Development Commission in Malawi (CADECOM), also known as Caritas Malawi, is the development and relief arm of the Catholic Church in Malawi. Established by the Bishops’ Conference in 1984, it operates through eight diocesan offices to ensure grassroots engagement and local impact.
CADECOM is registered under the Trustees Act and is a member of the Council for Non-Governmental Organisations in Malawi (CONGOMA), registration number C026/1994, and the Caritas Internationalis confederation. It also participates in national and international networks concerned with agriculture, climate change, environmental rehabilitation, vulnerability assessment and human trafficking.

To create awareness and empower disadvantaged men, women and young people to undertake integral, gender- and environment-sensitive development that is sustainable and promotes justice, human dignity and self-reliance—with people actively taking responsibility for their own destiny.
